"the seeker: the dark is rising" made me dizzy with all the changing shots. i thought it was a kids' movie, but more than half of the scenes were literally in the dark. i had to squint my eyes a lot.
it's about the battle between light and dark, and the seeker has to find these 6 signs of light hidden throughout time. the rider - the bad guy, by the way - is also after the signs... but who do you think got them? hahahaha. silly question. the seeker, of course!
wait, did i just spoil the whole movie for you? but moving on..
there wasn't really much of a story and dialogue, so i cannot understand why it was almost 2 hours long. by the time will, the seeker, started reciting his "i am will stanton, the seventh son of the seventh son..". mitz, mitzi and i couldn't stop laughing. who has time to think of an introductory speech when you're about to fight for your life?
i had more fun watching national geographic when i got home. they have this show about megastructures and they featured the Colosseum last night. they actually built it over a lake and so they had to come up with a drainage system that would drain all the water out. AND they created these retractable roofs that would cover the spectators when it got too hot. AND they even had tickets and an effective seating arrangement. pure brilliance, although the fact that their idea of entertainment was watching people clobber and stab and pound each other to death, well, isn't exactly in line with mine.
