i'm back.
11.02.2007
i'm back, and yes, i've been away. you may not have noticed (or heard. or known) that i went to manila and spent a few days there. i'd write about it here if i hadn't already went on and on about it on multiply, so click on the photo to get to the link and photos.

(i don't know why i chose this picture, but all the others suck as well)

anyway, sem break's almost over which means that i will have to bring myself to school this monday. thinking about it depresses me. i want to go out and get drunk and have fun, but when i think of doing so, my legs turn to lead. i get all tired and opt to stay at home instead.. which isn't bad, of course, since i've spent most of my freem time left reading. so instead of letting alcohol kill my brain cells, i'm exercising them!

in the past week, i've read two books:

"saving fish from drowning" by amy tan is about this group of 11 american tourists that get lost while on their trip to burma. it's narrated by the spirit of bibi chen, who was supposed to be the group's tour leader, but she died just before the trip. i didn't really like this book, and to be honest, i found it quite... weird. i even thought of putting the book down and to forget about it forever and ever, but i kept on telling myself that i'd get to the good parts soon, but they never came. i did learn a lot about burma thought, which is presently called myanmar. after i finish this entry, i think i'll search the country on google.

i just finished reading neil gaiman's "stardust" an hour ago (and i my copy is exactly like the one above - i tried looking for an older version but i couldn't find one), and i tell you, it's soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much better than the movie! i mean, really, i always thought that if i saw a movie version first, i wouldn't like the book because the movie already told me how the events happen. but i was wrong. NEIL GAIMAN IS MY NEW FAVORITE AUTHOR!!! and it's almost christmas, might i remind you, which is the perfect time to present me with neil gaiman books.

but please don't give me "fragile things". i'm reading that one tomorrow!
