keira knightley, johnny depp, orlando bloom + chow yeun fat all in the same movie = pirates of the caribbean 3: at world's end. "what could be better?" you think.
a lot of things, that's for sure, like the first movie or a glass of iced tea on a ridiculously hot summer day.
don't get me wrong - i'm not saying i didn't like it (because that would be a terrible lie), but it just wasn't BIG enough, you know? lots of useless parts, and some of them cheesy. sam and i even felt sleepy, and nobody's supposed to feel sleepy watching just the most awaited pirate movie ever.
but wait! let me talk about the trailers first. there was one for the 4th harry potter movie, "the oreder of the phoenix", which i am going to watch on the day it comes out NO MATTER WHAT. there was also "meet the robinsons" (an animated movie set in the future - and all of a sudden i'm starting to miss the jetsons ), "ratatouille" (another animated film about a rat who says the only thing that's keeping him from getting good food is the danger that's in it), and "underdog" or something like that (a dog superhero - how ummm interesting).
so where was i? oh yeah, about "pirates 3". chow yeun fat and his men aren't chinese, they're singaporean. i couldn't stop laughing at calypso and all her facial expressions and how she'd always suddenly appear and say something in all wisdom and mystery. also, since i was not contented with the movie, i want to make you feel awful and spoil it for you! do not read the spoiler that comes next! will turner (bloom) and elizabeth (knightley) get married in the while clashing swords with their enemies (complete with a slow-mo kiss, which made me wonder why no one attacked them while they were locking lips). then then, will is stabbed in the chest! but he does not die because jack sparrow (depp) makes him stab that big ugly heart that belonged to mister octopusface.
come to think of it, that spoiler wasn't that bad, huh? but anyway, here's something nice to know: wait until the credits to end for a tiny surprise (thanks to aiess for telling us).
